What we do is make the widest variety of quality meads available. They range from very delicate to ultra-bold, very dry to dessert sweet. We use more single floral source (varietal) honeys than any other meadery. We use whole spices and a wide variety of fruit. Whenever possible, Alaskan fruit is featured.

Our mission is to join the battle for the rejuvenation of American hard cider by hand-crafting superior cider for the superior person using ingredients emblematic of Alaska.

We have already begun crafting delicious, naturally gluten-free hard ciders right here in Anchorage by combining hand-picked Alaska apples, berries, and syrups with Washington apples. Look for our ciders and Tap Room to launch in Spring 2016.

The Glacier BrewHouse, established in 1996 by Chris Anderson and Bob Acree, is an upscale brewpub located in the heart of downtown Anchorage, Alaska. The brewery is a 15bbl single infusion mash system and constantly ranks in the top ten (out of about 1,200) in the United States for brewpub beer production. The brewery specializes in English and American West Coast style beers along with an elaborate oak aging program.

In celebration of our 20 Year Anniversary, our brewers made this giant double IPA infused with a tree load of blood oranges rendering that perfect hoppy-orange flavor.  


Shane Kingry and Dana Walukiewicz founded King Street Brewing Company with the goal to make malts shine and hops sing. Since 2011, people have flocked to the brewery nestled in south Anchorage for a glimpse at what some were calling sorcery. Their beers are only found in a handful of establishments in South Central Alaska.

Odd Man Rush Brewing is a small neighborhood craft brewery located in Eagle River, Alaska, opened in September 2015. Our beers represent our interpretation of craft brewing. We brew both beers that are true to style as well as unique ales that showcase our creativity and passion for brewing.

El Guapo – Hot Blonde

Blonde ale with an interesting twist. 80lbs of Anaheim, jalapeno and habanero chile peppers added to the boil. Fantastic aroma and flavor with minimal heat.

Head Buzzard – Double IPA

Piney, citrusy, balanced, and great aroma! Columbus, Citra, and Simcoe in the boil. Dry hopped exclusively with Falconers Flight hops. 8.2% West Coast style double IPA.

More Cowbell – Chocolate Milk Stout

I have a fever… 5.9% 24 IBU sweet stout brewed with copious amounts of dark malts, lactose sugar and cacao nibs. Perle and East Kent Golding hops balance the malts.


The name QUAKE! was chosen to honor the resilience, fortitude, and perserverance of those Alaskans who not only survived, but thrived after the Good Friday earthqauke of 1964.

The mission of QUAKE! is to create unexpected and delicious beers, and to work closely with the local brewing community to provide you with some of the best Alaska has to offer. Alaska Distillery is an artisan distillery located in the foothills of the Alaska range. We handcraft spirits in small batches using grains, potatoes, and ingredients grown under the midnight sun. And more importantly, the purest water on earth. Waters collected from the Alaska glaciers and icebergs harvested in Prince William Sound.

Palmer Extra Pale Ale

The City of Palmer’s motto is “Alaska at its Best” and like its namesake, this is beer at its best! Arkose Palmer Extra Pale Ale has juicy citrus and tropical tones and a grapefruit, melon, lime, gooseberry, passion fruit, and lychee aroma.

¡Explosivo! Imperial IPA

A seasonal brewed in the spring. Strong yet smooth and with a medium malty backbone that balances the higher hop flavors.

Bitter Earth ESB

Deep copper in color, medium-light bodied, and a complex malt profile with pleasing hop bitterness and flavor. This thirst-quenching ale is named after the great R&B tune “This Bitter Earth.” Like the lyrics in the song, this earth is not so bitter after all and neither is this beer.

German Kölsch

Taste: Crisp, Smooth, European. German Malt, German Hops, German brewing process. Using the same malt, hops, and process as a brewery in Cologne, Germany (where Kölsch originates), we strived to replicate the style in every way possible.

Bavarian Weissbier

Taste: Banana, Clove, Bready. Summer is in full swing and few beers are more appropriate than our Bavarian Weissbier brewed in the German tradition. Crisp, effervescent, and refreshing, all while carrying with it a richness that only the finest German barley and wheat malts can provide. On top of these fantastic ingredients, the true star in the Weissbier is the yeast: This strain has been used in Germany for centuries.

Maibock Lager

Taste: Rich, Malty, Clean. Goodbye winter, hello summer! Celebrate Spring as the Germans celebrate! HooDoo Maibock pours a rich golden color with a creamy white head on top. The aroma is clean with an inviting malt complexity and a lightly spicy noble hop note. With the first sip comes a juicy hit of delicious German malts. Hints of honey, candy sugar, and clean aromatic hops. Medium bodied, the rich malty flavors are supported by a soft underlying hop bitterness, balancing the beer perfectly.

American IPA

Taste: Floral, Citrus, Balanced. Loved by many, our IPA has a juicy backbone of Northwest US pale and crystal malts. Big floral and citrus hop aroma and flavor balance out the delicious malty base. A true-to-style American IPA.

Scottish Export

Taste: Sweet, Caramel, Earthy. This is our take on the strongest of the Scottish Ales. Rich and malty, but clean and dry, these beers often take on a slight peat smoke character. In addition to the nine varieties of Scottish, English, and Belgian malts, we included a small portion of peat smoked malt to the grist for a hint of earthy smoke flavor.

HooDoo Stout

Taste: Creamy, Coffee, Chocolate. A cross between an Oatmeal and Cream stout, this beer is made with dark roasted barley malts, flaked oats and milk sugar that lend it deep milk chocolate and creamed coffee aromas and flavors.


The recipes used in the Silver Gulch Brewing line of beers come from the owner, Glenn Brady. He crafts our beers to please the five senses, not necessarily to meet beer-style guidelines. America’s most Northern brewery.

Fairbanks Lager

An amber hued Munich Vienna Lager hopped with traditional noble hops complementing the slight caramel aroma of six different malts to give a soft and elegant finish.

Old 55 Pale Ale

An American Pale Ale and an Alaskan classic, expressing a fruity malty character from the use of American malt and aromatic Pacific Northwest hops, The copper color balances with the Citra and Cascade hops that give it a distinct citric aroma, fermented with Pacific Northwest yeast.


Bavarian-style Doppelbock dark lager brewed with Pilsen, Caramel and Munich malts, with a bit of dark-roasted malts to impart of deep-red/brown tint.

Iliamna Raspberry Ale

Iliamna Raspberry Wheat was originally brewed by Bird Creek Brewing of Anchorage in the 90s. Our re-formulation of this historic brew is made to be nearly gluten-free with the use of white sorghum, apple juice and raspberries.A light, refreshing pale ale with a semi-sweet finish and a pronounced raspberry finish.


Ursa Major Distilling, Fairbank’s first and only distillery, is a small, independent distillery that handcrafts its products from local barley grown in Delta Junction. Already known for their Long Winter Vodka and award-winning Summer Harvest Gin, their newest product, Fairbanks Sourdough Rum, is made with 60-year-old Alaskan sourdough starter. It was featured in Playboy Magazine, who said, “The resulting spirit is funky and unique, appropriate to the frontier ethos of Alaska”.

Long Winter Vodka

Our flagship product. An exceptionally smooth, honest vodka made from 100% local barley. Long Winter Vodka has a slight strawberry nose, with clean, crisp vanilla notes at the finish. In 2014 Long Winter Vodka was awarded a silver medal for best domestic vodka in New York’s The Fifty Best tasting.

Summer Harvest Gin

A traditional gin that is well balanced, with a long citrusy finish. It’s made from the same local barley as our vodka, with the addition of select botanicals such as Juniper, Coriander, Iris Root, Mace, Cardamom and fresh Rhubarb grown on the distillery property. In 2014 Summer Harvest Gin was awarded a bronze medal in the American Craft Spirits Association first annual tasting.

Fairbanks Sourdough Rum

Alaska’s 1st Rum! Fairbanks Sourdough Rum is a unique Alaskan experience. Instead of using commercial yeast, this rum is fermented using a sourdough that was started in Alaska more than 60 years ago. This is honest rum, with no added sweeteners, spices or flavorings. Enjoy Alaskan history in every sip.

Signature Recipes

Negroni – 1 ounce Summer Harvest Gin, 1 ounce Vya Sweet Vermouth, 1 ounce Campari. Shake with ice, and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
Long Winter Tonic – Place a lime wedge and an orange wedge in the bottom of a rocks glass. Add a small squirt of agave nectar and muddle thoroughly. Add ice and 1.5 ounce Long Winter Vodka. Top with Q-Tonic.
Arctic Tiki – 1.5 ounce Fairbanks Sourdough Rum, 1 ounce pineapple juice, 3Ž4 ounce Cointreau, dash of lime juice. Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Red Knot Scottish

Named for a migrating shorebird, this beer uses flavorful Scottish ale yeast to create a mild, amber colored, malty and “user friendly” beer that is easy to drink.

King & Wing ESB

Some brewers would call this an IPA, but not at HBC. This Columbus hopped, malty brew is big on flavor and we’re not afraid to call it an Extra Special Bitter.

Stardust Dark Lager

A light blend of hops with an adequate handful of chocolate malt combine to brew up a smooth, toasted biscuit flavored lager style.


Kassik’s Brewery is nestled in a clearing in the woods, adjacent to the Kassik’s home in Nikiski. Frank’s passion for brewing began when his wife Debara, bought him a home brew kit for Christmas. Frank was hooked and soon became a proficient home brewer. They built a 36 X 50 shop in hopes to someday have a brewery. In May of 2005 Kassik’s purchased a used seven barrel system, and then remodeled their building to accommodate the equipment with the help of family and friends. The brewery opened Memorial Weekend 2006.

Over the last 10 years Kassik’s has tripled the size of the brewery, won multiple awards and has built a reputation for quality handcrafted ales.

Biggie Smalls

The Brewers Associations craft beer program organized an ambitious project for American Craft Beer Week- To release a U.S. collaboration beer. The BA is calling it #biggestsmallbeerever….we are calling it Biggie Smalls. 1 recipe, 50 States. The same recipe was shared with breweries across America, and here is Alaskan’s take on the recipe.

Summer Ale

The straw-gold color and easy drinkability of Alaskan Summer Ale make this light and flavorful brew the perfect way to celebrate the summer. This Kölsch-style ale balances a softly malted palate with the clean freshness of hops. In the tradition of the style both hops and malt come together to refresh and renew the palate.

Kicker Session IPA

The hop-dominant flavor and aroma in our Kicker Session IPA might make you think this is a “bigger” beer. But the drinkable thirst-quenching attributes of Kicker are enhanced by a lower alcohol content. The aroma delivers a bright hop aroma of citrus such as grapefruit and tangerine, with a light malt backbone. The hop flavors can be fruity, with tangerine and strawberry notes coming from Citra and Amarillo, and a grapefruit and pine taste from Simcoe and Mosaic hops.

Raspberry Wheat

Alaskan Raspberry Wheat is an American-style Wheat ale with the lively addition of red raspberries during fermentation. With nearly one pound of real fruit per gallon, Alaskan Raspberry Wheat has the inviting aroma of fresh-picked raspberries. The flavor of the raspberries lends a tartness that balances the full-bodied wheat profile and malt sweetness. Bigger than most traditional fruit beers, Alaskan Raspberry Wheat adds an extra kick to its dry and effervescent finish.


Baranof Island Brewing Co. is owned, operated, sampled and sold by Sitkan beer lovers, Rick and Suzan. When they opened the brewery in 2010, enthusiastic townspeople drank up the supply so quickly, they immediately had to ramp up the capacity of their operations. Now that they can keep the thirsty locals satisfied (look for BIBCo. on tap at local restaurants), they are ready to share with you their passion for really good hand-crafted beer. Brew nerds will appreciate that every unfiltered 310-gallon batch is a combination of pure, glacier-fed Alaskan water and a blend of gourmet malts and hops, lovingly selected by our brew master.

5.2% – A pre-Prohibition style lager loosely based on the offering of a certain former Seattle brewery about 100 years ago.

Silver Bay IPA

6.5% – Our best selling beer, an American Style IPA heavily hopped with Cascade and CTZ.

Peril Strait Pale Ale

5% – An American Style Pale, easy drinking and refreshing with a light hop profile and solid malt backbone.

Redoubt Red Ale

5.75% – Our heavily hopped take on an Amber Ale with a solid flowery hop character.

Inside Passage rains are a blessing for bourbon-lovers: The fickle air pressure makes our oak barrels expand and contract, so they slowly absorb and release our bourbon as it ages. Result? Character so local, it’s like a postcard from Haines. We worked hard to make this bourbon excellent. We hope you enjoy it.

50 Fathoms Gin

This gin won the Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Now it’s winning fans everywhere. We distill it in the London Dry style, with hand-harvested spruce tips, whole juniper berries, coriander, and, for a distinctive finish, tangerine. Mix it with a top-shelf tonic, or let it light up your cocktails.

Icy Strait Vodka

Taking our inspiration from the pure, cold waters of Icy Strait’s  namesake, we’ve carefully re-distilled neutral grain spirits to make an exceptionally clean, smooth vodka with just a hint of sweetness from the corn it’s made from. It’s the perfect canvas for your favorite cocktail and equally good “icy straight.”

Green Siren Absinthe

We based Green Siren on a recipe from the 1700s, with additional inspiration from the misty muse of maritime Alaska. No sugar or artificial color here—just local herbs like wormwood and anise hyssop. Surrender to the mermaid in the classic ritual, in a cocktail, or (as the sirens would have it) on the rocks.
